13. I can sharply remember the instant I learned of his death

Monday

I was an 'A' school instructor at the 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego. My friend called me with the news and I said to her that she must have misunderstood the name. Was she sure it wasn't Jack Lemon? She was sure. I melted into a puddle of grief. That moment still haunts me.
