Health insurance costs are hitting Americans--what will it take to bring "universal healthcare" to America? [View all]

Wasn't sure where to post this--have acquaintances who are freaking out right now trying to get health insurance they can actually afford. I can't see the current system being sustainable for the future. Guess I just need to believe that there will be a change for the better here, in future, so folks not on Medicare don't have to freak out every damn year figuring out how they can afford rent, groceries and the cost of staying healthy.
