Anthony Albanese visits Ahmed Al Ahmed as Bondi hero's first video message circulates

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived at St George Hospital in Sydney's south to visit Ahmed Al Ahmed as a video message from the Bondi shooting hero begins to circulate.

The 43-year-old was filmed charging one of the attackers from behind and disarming him on Sunday.

The extraordinary footage has been shared around the world and viewed tens of millions of times on social media.

He was shot four to five times in his shoulder during the heroic intercept. Mr Ahmed was later admitted to hospital for multiple rounds of surgery.

His wound were worse than expected - shattered shoulder, blood loss etc. A company set up a GoFundMe for him and currently it's at $1.8m AuD.
