You don't see that kind of money from procuring sex. That was almost certainly large-scale money laundering. And the people who were the most interested in money laundering were Putin's oligarchs. They were great at stealing rubles from the Russian people, but they needed help getting those rubles out of the country and into safer currencies.

All this stuff is linked. It is a global web of crime. And everybody involved would kill their own mother for the right money.
