7. I just heard from my German friends

that they will not be back to the US. They lived and worked here for a couple of decades then had spent about half the year at their vacation home here for a decade. I don't really know how much they spent into the US economy each year but I imagine it was more than $50,000. Last February on entering the US, without any warning, they were pulled aside at immigration and coerced into surrendering their green cards.
I'm absolutely disgusted with a system capable of being used so malevolently and capriciously.
