I became a feminist around age 12. I was at the library and looked through the magazine racks and found MS magazine. Nothing was going to change me after that. Between it and all the news magazines I could read (we couldn't afford subscriptions or books, so libraries saved my life), I learned a lot of stuff that added on to all the books I read. I was what they called a voracious reader. I'd read anything. Read the Bible several times, books on other religions, books on rights and laws, anything and everything. Taught myself a little Russian in middle school, even.

This kind of thing is why education is dumbed down, why they want books banned, libraries closed. If you can read and learn stuff, you begin to stop letting the bastards tell you lies. And the internet scares the crap out of them. We can be in contact with people all over the world, have access to other news sources, and generally become thinking beings, instead of the sheeple they want us to be.
