I would turn over books by the right wingers or Christian types. Sometimes would move them to places they weren't easily seen. Not really hiding them, just making the dumbasses have to really look for them.

My small bit of resistance, and probably didn't work, but it was my "do what you can, where you are, with what you have" effort.
