I knew him. We live in that district he used to have.
Nice guy, but agree with him on very few things, politically.
But, he dropped his official status as an R, and joined the D party. (Not that I would want him as a dem.)
This is a headline from The Hill, earlier this year.

Kinzinger on ‘changed’ GOP: ‘I’m probably closer to a Democrat now’
