VA-SEN: Bryce Reeves (R) drops Senate bid in Virginia [View all]

Bryce Reeves has dropped out of the U.S. Senate race in Virginia, leaving Republicans without a leading candidate to unseat three-term Democratic Sen. Mark Warner.

Reeves announced his decision on social media on Sunday and said he will instead seek reelection for the state Senate. Reeves attributed the decision to a “serious family health matter” and timing.

“I remain fully committed to serving the citizens of Virginia’s 28th Senatorial District and look forward to seeking re-election to my Senate seat in 2027,” Reeves said.

Reeves, 58, launched his bid for Senate in September, highlighting his military and law enforcement background. He has served in the state Senate since 2012.
