The myth is that prior to Trump, the GOP was a slightly right-of-center party interested in sound public policy and responsible governance.

And then came Trump, who single-handedly turned this right-of-center party interested in sound public policy and responsible governance into the racist, authoritarian entity it is today.

Wrong.

The facts: Trump is the product of the GOP – for more than 50 years the Republican party has pursued an illiberal neo-fascist agenda of racism, bigotry, misogyny, and hate; an agenda seeking to destroy our democratic institutions and establish the tyranny of Republican minority rule.
