In reply to the discussion: Does anyone care if trump's friends get hurt if the Epstein files are released in their entirety? [View all]AZJonnie
(2,725 posts)I will be the lone dissenter on this thread. I want the DoJ (and local and state-level prosecutors) to do their fucking JOBS, open formal investigations, figure out WHO WAS DIRECTLY INVOLVED, who else (if anyone) paid minors for sex, or enabled to Epstein to do so (knowingly), and PROSECUTE THEM in a court of law. With evidence, lawyers, witnesses, judges, juries, and a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Plus, in terms of the number of people actually "involved", I think there's good reasons to suspect the public may have a significantly over-inflated read on the scale of JE/GM's abuse. Which means they'll likely interpret EVERYONE who they see as "part of The Epstein Files" to be a heinous criminal, when simply being in the files (esp. with what IQ47 is releasing) actually proves jack shit.
For those two reasons (only listing two, in the interest of brevity), I don't find this file release process to be proper Justice. To me, it's titillating pablum for the masses, providing them with bread and circuses and scapegoats.
This "release" is all pretty Trumpian in it's half-assed bullshit execution, full of sound and fury, but signifying little.
