Also I pump up my well water with two panels into a holding tank.
My boyfriend and I build my house here in NM where the sun always shines and made the whole south side (2 floors) basically windows. So if the sun is out my house is so warm from the passive heat from the sun. Putting in more south windows can help lower bills. Most days I need no extra heat until later in the night - just use a few portable heaters. I have a propane wall heater but Ive only used it 3 days so far because this is a warmer winter in NM.

We sold our house and have moved into an apartment in a retirement community high rise building. It's just cheaper

Bill to pay now is $56.00. Buying new windows in 2025 made a big improvement in power use

Our electric bill was $80 more than it was at the same time last year with similar usage. It's nuts.
