and so I don't think there is an appliance "bug" happening. It could be that these other fees you mention are hiking the bill so much. Does PG&E have any sort of program where they will go over your specific things you have for heating etc. and offer suggestions about ways to reduce usage? Some utility companies around the country are pretty good about this especially for seniors.

Bill to pay now is $56.00. Buying new windows in 2025 made a big improvement in power use

Our electric bill was $80 more than it was at the same time last year with similar usage. It's nuts.
