Man seen on viral video shouting racist slurs at security guard in Gwinnett County arrested [View all]

Witnesses told officers that the man was “making threats and verbally insulting” several people. Video shared with police shows multiple children were present during the rant.

Employees said that the man, now identified as 65-year-old Robert Burke, had previously caused disturbances at the location.

By the time officers showed up, Burke was not there, so an arrest warrant for disorderly conduct was issued.

On Thursday, police responded to another incident involving Burke at the Courtyard Marriott hotel off Venture Parkway in Duluth, where he was arrested.

Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs applauds law enforcement for taking the incident seriously.

“In certain states there are laws against uses of terms that by their very utterance can cause a breach of peace,” he said.
