Probably should go on to say - a little bit conflicted myself ...
When people deliberately put themselves in positions as to invite trouble ...
I confess to having mixed feelings about the length that remaining society is obligated to 'save' or 'rescue' them .. ?
(while at the same time sometimes putting their own lives and safety at risk?)

Other hand ... A 'mob' is a dangerous and nasty beast ...
And abandoning anyone to its mercies ... (regardless of transgression - which in this case amounted to an ugly form of speech .. ) Is a very far cry from anything that a truly civilized society (or gathering) would care to label 'justice'.

'just deserts' perhaps. (depending on level of real damage meted out) 'Justice'? - Sorry, no.
