personal power to compensate for an empty soul.

Cruelty is also about power, as is grifting, lying and getting away with it, breaking norms, withholding aid, killing millions, causing violence, kicking decent people to the curb, investigating opponents, cheating at golf, grabbing women, trading women like playing crds, bragging without end, whining without end about always being the victim, making people smarter/wiser than you bend the knee, installing loyal incompetents in positions of power, dropping bombs.
