My guess is that the rest of the country doesn't really spend much time thinking about South Dakota one way or another. I'm not sure we have cultural elites in this country. Who are these elites that the people of South Dakota dreamed up?

And crime is always a local issue. These are issues that mayors and Sheriffs should be talking about. Maybe governors and state legislatures if it's a question of funding.
