specifically just across from Kansas City Missouri are largely well-educated and liberal. They like to do things like fund schools, which appears to annoy the rural folks who don't understand why any education beyond fourth grade is needed.

I lived in Overland Park, KS, for some 25 years. I'm now in New Mexico, which is vastly better in many ways.
