1. Nebraska state auditor finds 'favoritism' in no-bid contract leads straight to Gov. Pillen

The Nebraska state auditor is calling out the governor, saying a no-bid contract went outside of Nebraska law and can be traced back to Gov. Jim Pillen.

The report says Pillen and the Department of Economic Development processed an “emergency” contract for a company that Foley alleges was unlawful and wrong.

“We pulled all of those emails and started reading through them," Foley said. "And we can see this thing was directed right from the governor’s office."

“I’ve never seen a situation like this where it led directly to the governor’s office,” State Auditor Mike Foley said.
