I've been wondering about this as well and I read that it was a clever marketing tactic to attract settlers from Iceland in times of Eric the Red, around 980 AD. I keep checking for weather in Nuuk and they are often higher than in my area, and I am roughly 900 miles south of Nuuk's latitude. Currently Nuuk is 48 degrees fahrenheit, my city is at 5 degrees.

I'd always heard that it was called Greenland to try to entice people to colonize it. True/Not True? ihaveaquestion 18 hrs ago #3
