(21 posts)Trump was not at the height of popularity in the 80s. He had his daddy's fortune and a bunch of bad debt. He went broke in 1991 and had to sell his debt-ridden assets (note the sale of Trump Showboat Casino on Lake Michigan in 1992 - which connects with other accounts of Trump from that era.) During the 80s and 90s he was a mobbed up casino owner in Ohio and New Jersey. Before he had a TV show, before he had Mara Lago. Before Epstein had his island near Mara Lago...
Trump was a TV star in the 00s, and he's president in 2010s and 2020s, so...
I just don't see how you can be like "Trump was wealthy in the 80s, therefore there's no way he went to parties at former slave plantations with KKK congressmen, corrupt county sheriffs, hillbilly mafia, Hells Angels, etc.
I know it sounds outlandish, but this kind of thing is common knowledge - look at Hot Springs Arkansas - https://vocal.media/criminal/dice-vice-and-political-spice-the-history-of-organized-crime-in-arkansas - every little town with enough money and voters and vice has the same kind of social structures.
So yeah, I don't see how everyone who is like "He was rich, rich people don't go to flyover states to party and do crimes." But, I mean, there are thousands of "former" plantations in the south.
Plantation is a code word for "slavery palace", with all the trappings, BTW.
