Much if it occurred under Kosovo Liberation Army leader Hashim Thaci, currently on trial for war crimes at The Hague. Almost everyone in the Jewish community of Kosovo fled to Serbia or Israel during the conflicts of the 1990s. Today, only a tiny Jewish community of about 50 remains in Prizren.

If it was the Serbs, the Jews would not have fled to Serbia. Many were Serbian-speaking Jews closely aligned with the Jewish community in Serbia, which remains in Serbia at approximately 3,000, particularly in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Nis. Serbia fought on the side of the Alllies and sheltered Jews during WWII.

Albania sided with the Axis powers during WWII.
