Got his Green Card the day I was born -73.

Lived in the Bronx from 4 - 13 then the family went home. Zio Nicolo can be found in Pictures with Mussolini. He became a Partisan when the Reich took over. He was a Senator and then Senator for life.

My mom's dad is sprinkled in pictures with Eisenhower at the end of WW2.

Our marriage should be a marker in letting go of the past . . . but it is all coming around again.

Zio Nic was still alive in 2016 and he BEGGED my husband to bring his pretty American wife to Italy where she's safe. He would ensure the rest of my family could come.

We should have listened when he was alive.
