18. As a bipolar person, let me announce that he is full of it

Those of us who are bipolar do not live in denial, as he claims. We feel guilt for the pain we cause our loved ones. We second-guess ourselves constantly, because we think we are not good enough. We don't even believe our own intuition, thinking that perhaps our gut feeling is just a mood swing...and that's how so many of us end up being victims of abusers. We keep giving people chance after chance that they don't deserve, because we doubt our own worth and intuition.

The grandiose moods of mania are fleeting. The regret we feel afterward is constant.

He made his decisions because he's just a lousy person. People like him, who hide behind their bipolar diagnosis to excuse their own horrible behavior, make people suspicious of the rest of us.
