Total Accidents: As of June 2024, there have been 3,979 incidents involving autonomous vehicles reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since mandatory reporting began in June 2021. This includes both fully autonomous driving systems (ADS) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
