WASHINGTON President Donald Trump said Monday that the Justice Department and Congress are "looking at" Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who has long been in Trump's crosshairs.
Trump made the comment in his morning announcement on Truth Social that he's dispatching White House border "czar" Tom Homan to Minnesota on Monday night. He said his administration is investigating massive fraud in the state, which he said "is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets."
"Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars," Trump said in his post.
Trump did not provide further details about the alleged investigations. Asked for comment on Trump's post, Omar's office pointed NBC News to a statement she posted on X.
"Sorry, Trump, your support is collapsing and youre panicking. Right on cue, youre deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me. Years of investigations have found nothing. Get your goons out of Minnesota," she wrote.
