They liked him for his entertainment factor. You know, shake things up in the stodgy government.

It's not unlike they were voting for a Prom King. Except they've been marinating in a toxic online stew for years where government has been described as evil and business tycoons (convicted felons included) are the heroes.

Hopefully they're woke now and will vote differently in the future.
