Confederate cavalry was irregular, brutal and out of control. Many were terrorists in Bloody Kansas before the war and became wild west outlaws after the war. It is no coincidence that the most important Confederate cavalry commander was a slave trader before the war and the founder of the KKK after the war.

That is the legacy the MAGA thugs are carrying forward.

The South did indeed "rise again." And again and again and again.
