When my husband and I were in Australia, we saw a clip of a cricket match on the news. The "pitcher" threw the ball, and the "batter" hit it perfectly into the pitchers family jewels. Now, I know that a cricket ball is solid wood. So, yeah, that sucker REALLY hurt!

I'm going with alluminum standard bat, however, hockey sticks are quite handy tools.
