Although I checked into the requirements for my home state (NY) and you can apply for entrance into the academy up to your 42nd birthday; with an additional year for every year of military service (up to 7)

So technically you could be 49 to enter the New York State Police Academy…

Most likely the exception; and not the norm; however.
