(3,103 posts)for unskilled labor absolutely have contributed to the rising costs of those products. It is also eventually an inflation contributor, these things are circular and all affect each other. I never even mentioned "minimum wage" in my comment, you guys did. In fact, in many areas, 15 bucks an hour is FAR above minimum wage (like, double in most states). But something happened about 5-6 years ago (covid maybe? partially? I don't know) where these businesses couldn't get anyone to work anymore, so the wage started climbing along with inflation and the cost of materials, and then eventually, the end product.
Is this something you disagree with? If so, say so and present your argument. Who knows, I may learn something that I didn't know, that happens every day. I'm not here to sell something. Feel free to disagree with anything I say, just be prepared to explain yourself if you wish to engage. All I ask is that you stop trying to put words in my mouth or assign interpretation to what I say. It's not productive and it's dishonest in discussion. And I can also assign the label of "snark" to anything you say and then attack you for it if I want to make up some nefarious intent accusation. But notice that I don't, and that's because it's dishonest.
What I see is people who heard something they didn't want to hear and are attacking the person who said it because they are itchin for a take-down of some sort. I find that to be petty on top of it all.
