5. Fallen so fast

When I was in school in the 70s, we were just beginning to fail with the 1st gas crisis. Carter tried to warn us and began to transition the country to renewables. Unfortunately, we elected a jovial, well scripted idiot, who then proceeded to stop all and go back to fossil fuels.
Now, 50 years later, we elected another even bigger idiot, and are in a depression, world war and the realignment of the world order. I don't know what the future holds, but my children and grandchildren will bear the brunt of our stupidity.
