The early images were b&w and fuzzy but then the transmission changed when they got on the lunar surface and it fucking looked as clear as any other news remote feed! Uncle Walter took off his glasses and sighed but with tears of joy not horror (as he had over JFK’s passing). My best friend’s grandmother knitted a blanket as she watched — and worked in “Moon Walk”’on one edge so it became known as the Moon Walk blanket.

Yes, the USA was GREAT then. Sadly those days are gone and I’ll probably never experience anything like it again.
