In reply to the discussion: BREAKING: three *more* women have come forward to @cnn.com and accuse Rep. Eric Swalwell of sexual misconduct... [View all]hlthe2b
(114,110 posts)YET, the timing (and potential motivations) on and behind this are intensely suspect, and we would be fools not to investigate it fully BEFORE WE LYNCH ERIC SWALLWELL. I am concerned with fairness, and I think I made my point about how we were manipulated as hell by the whole Al Franken incident.
In wanting to make sure VALID accusations are appropriately dealt with, I also want to question why NOW? Swallwell has been in Congress a long time. Some here wish to take this at face value. THEY ARE ACCUSATIONS. Why do some not want them to be validated and investigated? Let's not be saps, okay? This hardcore feminist woman does not want Dems to make another horrific mistake if the truth is a "manipulated scenario." And yes, women do lie on occasion- just as the accused men quite often do
As I said, take a breath. Dems can be our own worst enemies quite often in our zeal to "do the right thing," but without taking the time to make sure of the facts (and who might be manipulating them).
