84. Republicans would've waited until after the primary

Since he was one of the higher polling, there was a good chance of him becoming the Democratic candidate. Republicans would've benefited far more from holding off for that possibility. Or even waiting a bit. We still have seven weeks until the primary. It feels like a Republican would drop this bomb to cause chaos closer to June.

There's been whispers about this guy for years. That's why we have primaries.

And it's not like we don't have a full bench of Democrats. Whoever the Democratic candidate is will win.
