In reply to the discussion: BREAKING: three *more* women have come forward to @cnn.com and accuse Rep. Eric Swalwell of sexual misconduct... [View all]allegorical oracle
(6,499 posts)125. Having worked on Capitol Hill for two House members, it quickly became apparent to me
that many of these men get all puffed up with power. It's crazy. One member I worked for was definitely flirting around and eventually divorced his wife and married his chief of staff.
Must say that Swalwell didn't seem like one of those guys -- he seems more intelligent than that. Also, it seems like Repugs don't often get accused -- yet I can't believe they're not messing around just as much.
Am withholding judgement just in case it turns out to be a typical Repug dirty trick. The timing is suspicious.

No link has been provided to document the Stone connection, so I'm dubious.

I did not care for him. Red flags all over. Messy divorce prior to 2016. I am glad he is out of contention.

Absolutely. You are correct about not tolerating the crime of sexual assault, if it is clearly apparent.

Seems like "Don't be a rapist!" is now one of those problematic purity tests people complain about.

Did I say Dems should support Dems no matter what? Why put words in my mouth, trying to support your vapid point?

It's almost like Republicans escape such issues, but Democrats are tarred with them

Because Democrats care if their candidates are accused of such things, Republicans apparently don't.

We have a jungle primary out here in CA. The top 2 candidates from the primary go to the general.
