"Pie in the Sky" is often used as an idiom for an unlikely dream, but it is most famously known as a song/poem by activist and songwriter Joe Hill, titled "The Preacher and the Slave" (1911).

"You will eat, bye and bye,
In that glorious land above the sky;
Work and pray, live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky when you die."
