You're simply not correct on this no matter how stubborn you want to be.

That's right. Senator Chuck Schumer, the leader of the Democratic Party in the Senate, said it was time for Franken to go, and also the head of the DNC, Tom Perez.
It simply isn't the case that nobody was considering it until Gillibrand led the charge and so she deserves the blame (or credit if you think a man who can't keep his hands to himself shouldn't be in office). But it's telling that a woman is being held as the problem and not the guy who acted inappropriately. The patriarchy really does harm everyone.
