was the Overview Effect on those who left the Earth's traditional bounds. For them, existence took on a new clarity they tried to pass on to others, that when they looked back at our home against the cold and deadly universe, they realized how precious it is and how ridiculous our squabbles and destruction are. I have to believe such a perspective affected the agency's longterm shift to dedicate some resources into monitoring the detriment we have inflicted on our ecosphere.

Of course now our plague of a POTUS has reversed all of that. Not satisfied unless he is destroying something, he has sought to eradicate the result of hard-earned enlightenment.

We are products of the Earth. We evolved to thrive on Earth. Our best solution for ensuring the species' survival has to include preserving conditions on the only vessel capable of perpetuating our relative safety as we move through the cosmos.
