The union representing 10,000 workers claims the administration failed to negotiate in good faith during contract talks [State employees files labor complaint alleging bad-faith contract bargaining by Mills administration | Maine AFL-CIO (6)].

Key labor-related actions and accusations involving Governor Janet Mills include:
Bad Faith Bargaining Allegations: The Maine Service Employees Association (MSEA-SEIU) filed a complaint on Nov. 24, 2025, alleging the administration prematurely cut off negotiations and declared an impasse without discussing all proposals, [State employees union files complaint against Mills administration over negotiations | Maine Public (5)].

Veto of Farmworker Rights: In June 2025, Gov. Mills vetoed LD 588 (the Agricultural Employees Concerted Activity Protection Act), which aimed to protect farmworkers from retaliation for organizing, [Gov. Mills again vetoes bill protecting farmworkers’ right to discuss... (8)].

Declining Union Wages: Union officials report that state employees represented by MSEA-SEIU are earning 14% less than their counterparts in private industries, driving a push for better compensation that the union claims the administration has failed to address fairly, [Maine Service Employees Association files labor complaint... (2)].

This Maine primary is NOT about 'age'.... but age of policies might be another matter!

Anyway, judging by the Maine Democratic primary polls,
her chance of being nominated is NIL---
so any arguments against the most likely nominee,
are arguments against Democrats taking over the U.S. Senate in the mid-terms!

YES, hard words to be sure, but nonetheless accurate.
