Lots of those, and I find myself reading them repeatedly to try to find the violation… I find I usually end up having to say, “close, but no cigar” because… aren’t there more important things to quibble about?

I’m assuming “bashing” is different from simply calling someone out for saying or doing something dumb or inconsistent or whatever. If I have to look for 15 minutes to find an offense, I chalk it up to someone having thin skin or just… I dunno… the obnoxious youngest kid in the family kind of mindset?

And seriously, there are some Dems who really are outside what the party should stand for and deserve to be bashed. If there are so many people crying about “two wings of the same bird” and “serving the same masters,” I think the party could stand to be called out now and then. Yes, the tide looks to be turning lately, but some introspection is necessary to avoid falling into the same traps that generate distrust, right? Otherwise, we just keep circling this same cycle of seesawing between outrage at one party, then the other. Dems need a stronger stand to prove they’re an actual alternative to what hasn’t been working, right?

I think there’s a vast difference between "criticizing" and "bashing.” If we can’t criticize, how do we ever grow?
