And the only person in trouble was the guy that intended the bad accident to happen? (And that 'trouble' is being arrested for flagrant violation of the laws.)

The 'bad accident' analogy fails; if followed, it leads to a poor conclusion.

Sort of like cleaning the gutters on your two-story house and then, when you're down and thinking that wasn't so bad, having a sparrow land on the ladder or scaffolding and have it collapse. For a moment you might be shaken, but after a few minutes to collect yourself you're just happy to be alive.
