Do you really think they had a heart-throbbing desire to be part of a golf venture? That's naive. They poured billions into Trump and the Republicans to make sure that their assets and people would be safe in the Middle East. They may have even supported eliminating the Ayatollah, but everything that came after, no. Not at all. Iran, who understands who pulls the strings in the Middle East did not hesitate to select targets in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is also getting hurt by the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz. So, reality came to them the hard way. They have figured out that Trump is doing all of this as a distraction from the Epstein files. Imagine what that will look like in the coming future when those files finally get released and, in retrospect, these Middle Eastern leaders will be judged based on the fact that they were in partnership with a pedophile rapist. Crimes that would have someone facing the death penalty in their own country.

So, I'm not surprised that the Saudi's are withdrawing their support from the USA. They aren't the first, and they won't be the last as long as Trump is in office.
