...but gathering as much information as they can to make judgments related to their committee's role in holding the administration accountable.

Instead of just assuming they're trying to play gotcha, how about taking each hearing for what it's about and relating what they're advocating to the issues that actually concern these members.

This simplistic, 'do this' directed at people who've already fought and won actual campaigns against republicans is galling enough. Making this demand without giving a clue what the individual members are pursuing, much less what's actually said, is mostly indecipherable outside of these projections.

Just starting with this absurdity that they did something wrong because someone doesn't like the wording they used when they happened to look to see what they're doing.

It's as if people believe they're just floundering around just waiting to be told to move this way or the other. The reality is that they have actual responsibilities to govern, which isn't always going to be about performing for someone.

I mean, who is this supposed to be for? To convince you to oppose republicans, or convince people to support the only party that's focused on the people?

Acting like a committee hearing is some sort of contest is absurd. The contest happens when WE vote, with the certainty that our elected Democrats will vote the right way, ideally in a majority. The game is won if we give them enough members to prevail in those votes. That's the contest. That's the game here, not this second-guessing what someone said.

How about people throwing around this shit 'stop'? Use these platforms to amplify what our elected Dems are doing and saying. This backbiting shit is worth nothing and does nothing but encourage cynicism, and it's just as specious as it can be.

This shit needs to stop. The members aren't reading this, Dems supporters are, and it amounts to nothing but Democratic opposition, and specious opposition, at that.
