We've lost the redistricting wars (which is not the same thing as losing the election) and we're essentially out of ammunition.

Some are insisting that NY and VA redo the lines regardless of what they're told about the state of the law... and we really don't have that option... but both states CAN do it for 2028 and it probably nets us several seats. That's the "years of redistricting hardball" they're talking about - though there isn't much room to run beyond that.

And then there's the bad news. Celerity's post above may be overly optomistic re: the senate, but is correct that the future of redistricting in the House is fraught with peril. Blue states are expected to lost LOTS of seats during the 2030 reapportionment... and if those states are already all-blue from redistricting, our ability to cut from the red areas goes away. The new seats will be all through the south (now free from VRA constraints).
