Kyle Rittenhouse has sparked backlash from MAGA supporters for supporting Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, who has split with President Donald Trump.

Rittenhouse - who MAGA hailed as a gun rights hero following his acquittal in 2021 on all charges over shooting two people dead during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin - announced that he was volunteering for Massie in the race for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District.

“Volunteering for the greatest congressman,” Rittenhouse said in a post on X last week.


Multiple MAGA and Trump-supporting accounts commented against him. MAGA commentator Vince Langman wrote: "Wow! Kyle Rittenhouse turned out to be a complete d*****bag, we should've left him to the liberal wolves in 2020!"

Right-wing influencer Catturd wrote: "Remember when I warned everyone about him and everybody threw a fit years ago. - it’s tiring being so right all the time"; while YouTuber Joey Salads wrote: “We made the wrong people famous.”

Massie has been at odds with Trump over foreign policy and the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein files, with the president previously calling Massie a “loser” and a “disloyal, ungracious, and sanctimonious FOOL.”
