24. There are times

when I long for the days of a president only as corrupt as Nixon. Back then, when Dick resigned, I remember thinking our country would never have someone that crooked in the White House ever again. Ah, to be young and naive! Yet most all of my friends my age viewed it the same way. And after a brief season of Ford, I remember how happy I was at Jimmy Carter's election!

These days, on facebook, my cousin has had a few jackasses claimed that President Carter was a failure. Each time, my cousin tells me to straighten them out. I think of that kind of like the few bitter fools who insist that Ali was a "draft-dodger." What a sad fate to have one's thinking so disorganized as to dare compare this president with Jimmy Carter. Indeed, Nixon was this guy's moral superior.
