Maybe he got some bad poll numbers and decided to shore up support among his faithful with a prolonged racist screed. You know, to show them he's "on their side"?

I'm sure he LIKE to do the same to Muslim people, but today's a bad day for that (given SD), and the last few months have been suboptimal since he's desperately courting his Muslim allies in KSA, Oman, UAE, and Kuwait to help him take down Iran. Running his usual anti-Muslim smack would likely not help him, so he has to go with his fallback option.
