And I bet hes aware that increasing numbers of people are losing faith and confidence in him, and his effectiveness as the infallible warrior he fancies himself to be.
All happening as he feels older, less all-powerful, and more vulnerable. THIS isnt supposed to be falling apart for him. NOT for HIM! Everything is supposed to work out beautifully for him, over ANY challenge OR challengers.
And its not working out the way he thinks its supposed to.
