(17,864 posts)43. Yeah, I was just reading that these efforts wouldn't be fully (note that word) operational until early 2028.
I think they have released some of the sterile males already near the site where the calf was infected. But with all of the recent storm activity, these flies are probably already everywhere.

No. It is not. It can affect pets, other livestock and HUMANS TOO. We had it controlled 60 years ago

I'm pretty sure they were also doing this in Mexico. USDA was working with Mexico. To the best of my knowledge.
